Vermont Coalition of Runaway and Homeless Youth (VCRHYP) (Ages 12-22)

Clara Martin Center is a proud member of the Vermont Coalition of Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs (VCRHYP). VCRHYP creates a safety net for youth in need by supporting a network of runaway and homeless youth programs throughout Vermont. As a member of this coalition, Clara Martin provides services to youth who are, or who are at risk of becoming homeless.

Available Services:

Temporary Shelter – Agreements with several homes throughout Orange County provide temporary shelter to runaway and homeless youths for up to 14 days. Youth is eligible for temporary shelter if they have runaway or are thinking of running away, or if the parents/guardians need time to resolve the issues in the home. All youth are screened for safety and appropriateness prior to being placed in a temporary shelter.

Case Management/Outreach/Referrals – Case management services are provided to coordinate reunification with family or another appropriate placement. In addition to coordinating housing, the case manager/outreach worker will assess for other needs including mental health, school/education status, vocational needs.

Mental Health Services – Clara Martin Center provides immediate access to the other mental health services that the agency offers. If the youth is assessed as needing mental health treatment or an emergency screening, we can set them up for services immediately.  Mental health services may include:
