There has been a rapid and alarming rise in the abuse of narcotic pain pills and heroin over the past several years in Vermont. This has lead to an increase in crimes such as breaking and entering, robberies, etc., not to mention the escalation in overdoses and the devastation these drugs do to those that become addicted to them and their families.

Jeanne Crowley Named 2014 Recipient of Dr. Brewster Martin Award

Jeanne Crowley began her career with the Clara Martin Center in 1995, and since then has earned her Masters Degree and become a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Her professional career includes positions at Clara Martin Center as a Clinician with the Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Program, Access, Community Support Program and the Emergency Team. In 2006, she joined the Central Vermont Substance Abuse Services where she is Adult and Intensive Outpatient Services Coordinator, a member of the management team, project CRASH clinician and excellent clinical supervisor. She has dedicated her life to help improve the quality of life for so many people under her professional care.

Clara Martin Awarded for Community Service

"Sometimes, you cannot see great achievements. The Clara Martin Center is like that." Marty Strange, White River Valley Chamber of Commerce (WRVCC) member remarked at the Chamber’s annual meeting where Clara Martin Center was presented with the 2013 Excellence in Community Service award.
