Accreditations and Designations

Clara Martin Center proudly holds accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The process of accreditation entails a rigorous review of the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services provided by Clara Martin Center programs. Clara Martin Center has had accredited programs since 1993, with the most recent survey of July 2006 resulting in a three year award. Two areas of exceptional performance noted by reviewers included the attentive outreach into the rural areas of the service community and the thoughtful strategic planning that assures response to community needs. Any recommendations provided are incorporated into the annual operating plan for continuous quality improvement. Clara Martin Center is committed to assuring that the care delivered meets and/or exceeds national standards and that the services provided are of the highest quality.

Clara Martin Center is a "designated agency" for the State of Vermont.  We are designed to provide behavioral health services to the residents of the greater Orange County for the following populations:Â

  • Children and adolescents with, or at risk of, severe emotional disturbance, or with significant behavioral health needs, and their families
  • Adults with chronic mental illness, or with significant behavioral health needs

The designation process assures that each population served by the Department of Health has an agency within each geographic area of the state to provide the services and supports required by each community. Clara Martin Center therefore provides care consistent with available funding, ascribes to the state System of Care Plans and the local system of care plans, maintains outcome requirements, and meets all regulations promulgated by the Agency of and Human Services for the State of Vermont for its citizens, the goals of the citizens themselves, and other policies, plans, regulations and laws.

Clara Martin Center is additionally approved by the Division of Office of Alcohol and Other Drug Programs (ADAP) to provide alcohol and other drug services to the greater Orange County of Vermont.
