School Based Services
Mission:
The mission of School Services is to fully integrate the educational, mental health and substance abuse services for children, adolescents and their families.
Description:
School Services strives to develop collaborative relationships with the community to maximize the utilization of all community resources. With a focus on prevention and early intervention, the goal of school services is the promotion of wellness for all students in their educational, family and community environments. Any school or supervisory union within the greater Orange County service area may request consultation, crisis intervention and/or outpatient services for their students.
Services:
Consultation and counseling services are currently provided in the six supervisory unions within the greater Orange County service area. Therapeutic support workers serve individual high risk students so they can attend public school. Independent and alternative school programs for students in need of a more therapeutic school environment are also offered. Crisis and/or community education services are available to school systems. Home-based early intervention and detection of mental health needs for young children and their families is provided to promote greater success prior to entrance into the school system.
