Clara Martin Center can be a mental health resource during large-scale events that impact our community as whole.

About this program

The Clara Martin Center is a resource for our community partners around events that may occur in the larger community where there may be a need for broader mental health support.

This support can be offered in situations of unexpected loss that impacts a community, or in larger natural disaster situations, where Clara Martin Center staff can be sent into the community to provide varying levels of support.

How We Help

After an Event Support

The Clara Martin Center is able to provide onsite supports to local towns, businesses, or schools if requested during times of sudden loss or traumatic events. Over the years, staff has spent numerous hours in various local schools providing direct support to students and faculty, attended multiple community events, and participated in various town forums to discuss mental health and substance use awareness and supports available.

An example of this is following Tropical Storm Irene where staff spent many hours out in communities affected providing supports to community members as needed, as well as participating in local town forums/meetings.
